Lamborghini Centenario Roadster

This is the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster. It's more than $2.2 million and only 20 will be made. And they've all been sold already.

Nevertheless, Lamborghini unveiled this automotive masterpiece this week at Pebble Beach, following the debut of the coupe version earlier this year. And like the coupe, this concentrated concoction of Lambo's spirit is based on the mighty Aventador.

The naturally aspirated V12 puts out 770 horsepower and that makes it, along with its nearly-identical coupe brother, the most powerful Lamborghini ever. The name celebrates what would have been the hundredth birthday of its founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, and is meant to deliver "the freedom of a true open-top super sports car for a pure drive experience," said Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali.

The company says the car represented a new design direction for Lamborghini, with "clean surfaces and superb reflections" and an ethos of "form follows function." If bedroom wall posters are still a thing, I think the Centenario Roadster would be perfect for the job.

This car serves as the ultimate in Lamborghini's range, which is quite something for a company that boasts of the Aventador and the Huracan.
