Indian Motorcycles teases all-new Chief, India launch on the cards as well

Polaris-owned Indian Motorcycles is looking to make a comeback and in a big way. Indian has teased in what may be the first of its motorcycles in 2013, the iconic Chief. Other details are unclear as of now, but what we do know is that the 2014 Chief will be powered by a Thunderstroke 111 cubic inches (1819cc) V-twin engine. A few months back the company had showcased its all-new engine at the Daytona Bike Week in the USA and then announced that it will power its entire 2014 range of motorcycles. The 1819cc 49 degree V-Twin engine makes 155Nm of torque and is built at the Osceola, Wisconsin at the Polaris Industries engine assembly plant. The entire motorcycle will be assembled at Polaris’ production facility in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
What is interesting is that Polaris already has a presence in India through its ATVs and has hinted on their website that Indian Motorcycles are headed for our shores. If you are interested in buying a big iconic American cruiser, this should certainly be worth the wait.
