Ducati Streetfighter

Lean and mean, this Ducati steals the spotlight. Powered by the 1098's, and later the 848's engine, this bike not only looks the part but performs great too. Pledged as a "streetfighter", this machine handles fast roads and race tracks very well. It's old engine created 155 bhp from its v-twin desmodromic engine. Now it makes do with 848's engine(but make no mistake, its steal very potent). Minimal body work looks menacing, while also keeping the weight down. The 1198's engine has been retuned and now does duty on the Multistrada.

The absence of a fairing, and given the speeds that this bike can do quite easily, the wind force can be a pain the, err, neck. Designed by Damien Basset and his team at Ducati, this bike won numerous design awards, even in its concept form way back in 2008. It's competition includes legendary names like the Triumph Speed Triple, which, in fact, was one of the first streetfighters, the Aprillia Tuono, the stunning new KTM 1290 Super Duke R and the MV Agusta F4.

Though with the advent of the 1199 Panigale, a brand new streetfighter might be in the works.
