Porsche 911 GT3 2014

991 GT3

The powertrain of the new 911 GT3 comprises a 3.8-litre flat engine developing 475 hp (350 kW) at 8,250 rpm, a Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) double-clutch gearbox, and high-traction rear-wheel drive. The six-cylinder engine is based on that fitted in the 911 Carrera S, but shares only a few common parts. All other components, particularly the crankshaft and valve train, were specially adapted or developed for the GT3. For example, Porsche is once again using titanium connecting rods attached to forged pistons. These basic modifications set the stage for an extreme high-revolution engine capable of reaching up to 9,000 rpm. The dual-clutch gearbox is another feature specially developed for the GT3, with characteristics inspired by the sequential gearboxes used in motor racing, thus granting the driver further benefits when it comes to performance and dynamics. The completely-redeveloped fifth generation of the 911 GT3 occupies the top position among Porsche sports cars with naturally-aspirated engines. Following the total production of 14,145 GT3 cars since 1999, the fifth generation of the 911 GT3 is a new car from the ground up.

This is the high performance version of the already well-performing base 911

Even faster lap times: 991 GT3 with new rear-wheel steering.
The new 911 GT3 once again sets fresh record performance values. At full acceleration from a standstill, 0-100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) is passed after just 3.5 seconds, and 124 mph in less than 12 seconds. The top speed of 195 mph is reached in seventh (and thus top gear) of the PDK transmission. The lap time on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is even more impressive: the new 911 GT3 completed this track, commonly regarded as the most difficult in the world, in less than 7:30 minutes. While every Porsche is proven around the Nürburgring, this credential is particularly relevant for the new model as around 80 per cent of 911 GT3 customers also drive their cars on race tracks.

Steering has been added to the rear wheels when traveling under 80 kph making this beast even more agile in sharper curves.
The car is slightly heavier given the PDK and a much larger fuel tank, but reportedly even faster the the GT3 RS 4.0 around the ring, with a top speed of 315 kph pushed by a 475 hp engine (very conservative).

Jeep Wrangler

This is one of the toughest, most badass 4x4 out there, period. It belongs to the same crop of bare bones, i-mean-serious-business crop of SUVs which also includes the fabled Land Rover Defender.

Jeep also manufactures other acclaimed SUVs like the Grand Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee SRT

JK (2006–present)

JK was introduced at the 2006 North American International Auto Show with past Chrysler group CEO Tom LaSorda driving one up some steps and through a plate glass window, just as Robert Lutz had done at the show in 1992 with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The JK was first available for purchase with the 2007 model year. The 2007 model year brought the complete redesign of the Jeep Wrangler, in both two- and four-door models. The TJ platform was replaced by a new JK platform. This next-generation Wrangler was significantly larger than the existing model, with a 2-inch (51 mm) longer wheelbase and 3.4-inch (86 mm) wider track, though the two-door model is actually 2.5 inches (64 mm) shorter in the overall length than the TJ, allowing for a 44.3-degree approach angle and a 40.4-degree departure angle. With a larger available standard tire size of 32 inches; the breakover angle on the Rubicon is increased from 22.6 to 25.4.
The JK Wrangler is offered in two versions:
  • A short-wheelbase 2-door, in X, Sahara and Rubicon trim levels.
  • A long-wheelbase Unlimited 4-door, also in X, Sahara and Rubicon trim levels.
The Wrangler X is available with factory installed right-hand drive, targeted at US mail carriers. Rural mail boxes in the United States are serviced with the carrier behind the wheel. This may also be useful for carriers who wish to get out of their vehicle without the risk of getting hit by traffic. For the 2007 and 2008 model years, the right-hand drive Jeep was the short-wheelbase Wrangler. For the 2009 model year, the right-hand drive Wrangler will be replaced by the right-hand drive Wrangler Unlimited.
A 3.8 L EGH V6 with a displacement of 230.5 cubic inches (3,778 cc) producing 202 hp (151 kW) and 237 pound-feet (321 N·m) of torque is the base engine, replacing the venerable AMC 242 straight-6. The 2.8 L VM Motori turbodiesel straight-4 producing 177 hp (132 kW) and 302 pound-feet (409 N·m) of torque used in the Liberty is offered as options outside of U.S., as it does not satisfy U.S. emission control standards for 2007.
A six-speed manual transmission is standard, with a four-speed automatic transmission offered as an option. The lower two levels have the Jeep Command-Trac part-time four-wheel drive system with an optional Trac-Loc limited-slip differential, while the Rubicon uses Rock-Trac a version of the NV241 with a 4:1 low range. Electronic locking front- and rear-axles called Tru-loc are also standard on Rubicon models. (A rear locking differential was optional on X and Sahara models for 2007, then only on select X models for 2008 and 2009. From 2010 onward, the locking differential is not available on any non-Rubicon Wrangler.)
Stability control is a new safety feature for the JK Wrangler. All versions offer off-road tuned Anti-lock braking system and traction control system with electronic limited slip differential. Standard on the Rubicon trim is a new electronic sway bar disconnect system.
The JK runs almost all vehicle functions, other than steering, under computer software control. Engine, transmission, and to some extent braking are computer controlled, as are lights and auxiliary systems. This is a first for the Wrangler. As of mid-2007, there have been three safety recalls for software fixes.
Sunrider convertible soft top is standard equipment. Also available on the JK model is an optional 3-piece modular hardtop. Although the doors can still be removed in traditional Wrangler fashion, power windows and remote power door locks will be offered for the first time in a Wrangler. Another first is an available navigation system. This is the first generation of the Jeep Wrangler to have a change in the tail lamps.
The 2009 model added standard Hill Start Assist (HSA) to prevent rollback on graded surfaces. Trailer Sway Control (TSC) also is available to monitor vehicle movement relative to the intended path and activates theElectronic Stability Program (ESP) if the trailer begins to sway outside set parameters. Additionally, ULEV II emissions replace LEV II emissions on manual transmission equipped vehicles.

JK Wrangler Unlimited

2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara
The JK series 2007 Wrangler Unlimited was unveiled at the New York Auto Show on April 12, 2006. It is stretched even more than the TJ model, and featured four doors. This change made it the last-remaining 2-door SUV in North America to gain a four-door option and made it the only four door convertible in production. A full 20.6 inches (523 mm) was added to the JK Wrangler's 95.4-inch (2423 mm) wheelbase. It is priced near $21,000.
Unlimited has the same engine and transmission choices as a short-wheelbase JK. X and Sahara trims offer an option of 4x2 rear-wheel drive in the U.S.A. It is the only four-door convertible available in the U.S., since the Hummer H1 with optional rag-top is no longer sold.
The Unlimited offers more options and equipment than any previous Wrangler model, including standard electronic stability program and optional seat-mounted side airbags, remote keyless entry, navigation system, and Sirius Satellite Radio. The navigation and satellite systems are a part of the MyGig Entertainment system that also has a hard drive allowing for the storage of MP3 music files and pictures.
On September 13, 2007, at the Defence Systems and Equipment International trade show, Chrysler LLC unveiled a Wrangler Unlimited version designed for military use dubbed the J8. The unarmored Jeep J8 is equipped with larger brakes, axles and suspension components than the civilian version and has a payload capacity of 1,339 kg (2,952 lb). The J8 also differs from the civilian model by utilizing heavy-duty rear leaf springs for carrying heavier payloads. The Jeep J8 is powered by a VM2.8-liter (169 CID) four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 118 kW (158 hp) and 400 N·m (295 lbf·ft) of torque, providing towing capability of up to 3,500 kg (7,700 lb). The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The J8 also features a unique air-intake system with special filtration and a hood-mounted snorkel that enables the J8 to wade in water up to 762 mm (30 in) deep and tackle sandstorm conditions for up to five hours. Available as a two-door with an extended pickup bed for personnel or equipment transport, or a four-door multipurpose vehicle, it may be produced with numerous vehicle-body and seating configurations in either right-hand- or left-hand-drive. Targeted for use by the militaries in overseas markets, the J8 is not available in the United States because it will not meet U.S. emissions requirements. The J8 will be produced in Egypt. The 2009 model added standard Hill Start Assist (HSA) to prevent rollback on graded surfaces. Trailer Sway Control (TSC) also is available to monitor vehicle movement relative to the intended path and activates the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) if the trailer begins to sway outside set parameters. Additionally, ULEV II emissions replace LEV II emissions on manual transmission equipped vehicle.
The 2011 model added a new steering wheel, as well as a completely redesigned interior with higher quality materials, larger rear windows to increase rear visibility, and a new USB interface with Bluetooth audio streaming. For the first time ever, automatic temperature controls were also added to the Wrangler as an option. The redesign was intended to provide a more refined interior as well as directly addressing interior comfort in noise and temperature.
The 2012 model, as confirmed by Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne during the 2010 third-quarter sales announcement, received a version of Chrysler's newest V-6 engine known as Pentastar. The version used in the 2012 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for the 2-door model is rated at 17 mpg City / 21 mpg Highway.

Recognition

The Jeep Wrangler received the 2009 Best Resale Value Award from Kelley Blue Book (KBB) in the sport utility vehicle category. In 2012 and for 2013, it was also awarded the Best Resale Value Award from Kelly Blue Book in the compact sport utility vehicle category. The Wrangler also holds the Models to Best Hold Its Value recognition from Kelley Blue Book for 1998, 1999, 2003, 2011, and 2012.
The 2011, 2012, and 2013 Jeep Wranglers have received Canadian Black Book's Best Retained Value Award for the compact SUV category.
In 2007 and for 2013, the magazine Four Wheeler awarded the Jeep Wrangler with its Four-Wheeler of the Year Award and in January 2010, they awarded the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon its title of 4x4 of the Decade.
In 1997, 2007, and 2012, the magazine Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road awarded the Jeep Wrangler with its 4x4 of the Year award.
The 2008 edition of Forbes Autos lists the four-wheel-drive convertible Jeep Wrangler at number four among the top ten vehicles with the highest resale value.
In May 2009, Business Week magazine named the Wrangler One of the Most Iconic Cars of the Last 20 Years.

Electric Wrangler

In September 2008, Chrysler Vice Chairman Tom LaSorda unveiled a range-extended electric 4-door Wrangler along with similarly engineered Town and Country minivan and a purely electric sports car. The Wrangler would have a 40-mile (64 km) range before a gas engine starts and begins supplying additional electricity. However, in November 2009 Fiat SpA disbanded Chrysler's ENVI electric car division and dropped these models from future product plans.

Grand Cherokee SRT

On April 20, 2011, Jeep announced that the SRT8 version would be debuted at the 2011 New York Auto Show. According to Chrysler, it is the most powerful Jeep ever built. 0–60 and quarter-mile times have not been measured yet, but are expected to be on par with the previous generation SRT8.
The new Cherokee SRT8, which started production on July 16, 2011, is equipped with a 470 hp (350 kW; 480 PS) 6.4 L Hemi V8 engine. Jeep claims the new SRT8 gets 13 percent better fuel economy than its predecessor. To keep the gas mileage respectable, Jeep has employed a new active exhaust system that lets Chrysler's cylinder-deactivating Fuel Saver Technology operate over a wider rpm band. Chrysler claims that with the larger gas tank, the SUV can now travel up to 500 miles (800 km) on a single tank, while other sources estimate range to be 450 miles (720 km).

2014 Grand Cherokee SRT
Including the relatively minor cosmetic tweaks, changes to the Grand Cherokee SRT are minimal. Among them: The SRT8 moniker has been binned. The Chrysler Group has opted to dump the cylinder-specific nomenclature, meaning all future models coming out of the company’s high-performance shop will be badged simply as SRT.

The current-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee went on sale in summer 2010 as a 2011 model. It was unveiled at the 2009 New York Auto Show. The fourth-generation Grand Cherokee retains its classic Jeep styling combined with a modern and sleek body style. The interior is luxurious, featuring leather trim and real wood accents, plus state-of-the-art electronics options. The 2011 Grand Cherokee has won 30 awards for off-road capability, luxury, value, best-in-class, and safety, making it the most awarded SUV ever. Among the awards are: Top Safety Pick for 2011 from the IIHS, listed as a Consumers Digest Best Buy for 2011, Safest SUV in America by MSN Autos, and Truck of the Year for 2011 by The Detroit News.
2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

The body design is all new and has undergone testing for aerodynamic efficiency while improving ruggedness with more than 5,400 welds in the body alone. This results in a 146% increase in torsional stiffness compared to the previous design for improved durability and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness.
Like the previous generations, the chassis is a steel uniframe. Unlike previous models, the new WK2 features four-wheel independent suspension for better on-road handling. The Grand Cherokee (with the 2011 Durango) WK2 platform uses a derivative based on Mercedes-Benz's W166 series.
Engine choices include the all new 3.6 L Pentastar V6 and 5.7 L Hemi V8. Four wheel drive systems include Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II. Optional Quadra-Lift suspension can raise vehicle's ground clearance up to 11.1 in (282 mm). Lift modes include Park, Aero, Normal Ride Height, Off-Road 1, and Off-Road 2. Also new is the Selec-Terrain, which has modes for Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock.
The Hemi V8 retains the Multiple Displacement System (MDS) that shuts down four cylinders in low-power driving situations. And the V8 remains coupled with the multi-speed automatic transmission which includes Electronic Range Selection (ERS) to manually limit the high gear operating range. Trailer tow is rated 7,400 lb (3,400 kg) for Hemi models and 5,000 lb (2,300 kg) for Pentastar models.
The 3.6 L Pentastar V6 replaces the 3.7 L and 4.7 L PowerTech engines. The 5.7 L Hemi engine was retained as the V8 option, although no Hemi badging is used on the exterior of the vehicle. Also, the WK program code remains.
Some features changed with this generation are the handbrake being replaced by a footbrake, and the wiper stalk on the right side of the steering column being moved to the turn signal stalk, which also means the lights move to the dash. Also new is a heated steering wheel, standard on Overland and SRT8 models and available on Limited models.
A 3.0 L turbocharged diesel V6 developed and built by Fiat Powertrain and VM Motori (with Multijet II injection) rated at 177 kW (241 PS; 237 hp) and 550 N·m (410 lb·ft) of torque will be offered in export markets by mid-2011. The new 3.0 L CRD turbodiesel engine will also be offered in European markets as 140 kW (190 PS; 188 hp) low-power version. For the 2011 model year, the Grand Cherokee was offered in five trim levels: LaredoLaredo XLimitedOverland, and Overland Summit. The performance SRT-8version returned for the 2012 model year. Also for 2012 a S-Limited model was offered in Germany.
Laredo was the basic model, and could be upgraded to the "X" trim package for upgraded luxury features. Limited was the luxurious model. Overland was the top-of-the-line trim package, and Overland Summit was the most expensive trim package, prior to 2012. The SRT8 392 version was the most expensive trim package for 2012, and added the 6.4-liter, 392-cubic-inch, 470-horsepower V8 HEMI engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. It also offered a tweaked version of the SelecTerrain System that added performance-enhanced modes to its basis.
In mid-2012, Jeep started a sweepstakes in order to help name a production-intent concept car based on the Laredo X model. The vehicle featured a black leather interior, twenty-inch wheels with black-finished tires, black-colored body components, and more. The winner of the sweepstakes would get their winning name put onto the vehicle, and would win one of the first of these vehicles when they would be put into production in May 2012. In March 2012, the winning name of "Altitude" was picked, and Jeep also put the Altitude name on both the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot, based on the Sport models of both of the aforementioned vehicles. They will be sold alongside the Grand Cherokee Altitude Special Edition.
On June 25, 2012, Jeep announced that the 2013 model year, slated to go on sale in August 2012, will be shortened due to plans to unveil an upgraded version for the 2014 model year, which could go on sale after its introduction at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
In September 2012, Jeep announced three new limited production models of the Grand Cherokee. The first Grand Cherokee would be the Trailhawk Edition, which took the name from the 2007 Jeep Trailhawk concept, upon which the 2011 Grand Cherokee was based. The Trailhawk Edition has Kevlar-reinforced off-road tires, alloy wheels, a two-tone hood stripe, and black leather interior. The model is based on the Laredo X, and includes its features. The next two models were the SRT8 Alpine and Vapor Editions, the Alpine Edition featuring Bright White Clear Coat exterior paint, and the Vapor Edition featuring Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat exterior paint. Features such as a black-faced front grille, smoked alloy wheels and a black leather and suede interior are standard. This model builds on the features of the standard Grand Cherokee SRT8. Due to the popularity of the originally limited edition Altitude Edition model, Jeep announced that the Altitude Edition Grand Cherokee would be produced once again for 2013. It is unchanged from 2012. The Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot Altitude Editions would be discontinued, though. These were available only for 2012.
In mid-2012, electric vehicle manufacturer Amp Electric Vehicles, announced that it would be producing an electric vehicle version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, offering a great electric range and the same features of the Grand Cherokee. Slated to be available in early 2013, the AMP Grand Cherokee will have a starting price of around $50,000.00. AMP also produces electric vehicle versions of a step van and the Mercedes-Benz ML.

Maneuverability and handling issues

In 2012, Swedish automotive magazine Teknikens Värld revealed that the Jeep Grand Cherokee failed one of their avoidance maneuver tests known as the "moose test". Other SUV models in its class had no issues passing the test. German magazine Auto Motor und Sport (AMS) later tested the same press vehicle in a slightly different avoidance maneuver test that meets ISO (International Standards Organization) standards. Unlike the results of the Swedish test, the Jeep remained on all four wheels and did not lose any tires to a blowout.

2014 Grand Cherokee

On Monday, January 14, 2013, Jeep unveiled a revised WK2 Grand Cherokee at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan at Cobo Center, along with a revised 2014 Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot. The new Grand Cherokee will offer an EcoDiesel V6 engine that gets up to 30 MPG, a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that gets up to 24 MPG and has 290 horsepower, a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine that gets up to 21 MPG and has 360 horsepower, and finally, the 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that offers 470 horsepower. The models are the Laredo, the Limited, the Overland, and the Overland Summit Edition model has been renamed Summit. A new front end with a revised body-colored grille, new, smaller headlamps, and new tail lamps round out the exterior changes. There are also new seventeen, eighteen, and twenty-inch wheel and tire choices. The SRT8 model will continue to be offered, and for the first time will offer signature details like blacked-out head and tail lamps. Inside, the Summit model receives the SRT8's nineteen-speaker Harman/Kardon surround-sound system, all Grand Cherokees receive a new steering wheel with standard paddle shifters in every model, an eight-speed TorqueFlite 8 automatic transmission, and an 8.4-inch touch screen display with Garmin navigation software, an optional CD player, and the U Connect Access System first introduced in the all-new 2013 Ram 1500. A U Connect 5.0 touch-screen radio will also be available with an optional CD player. The Selecterrain System receives multiple upgrades on four-wheel-drive Grand Cherokees. New exterior colors, new interior fabrics and materials, and new interior colors become available. The SRT8 model receives a unique steering wheel with the SRT insignia, twenty-inch alloy wheels, performance tires, and details inspired by the all-new 2013 SRT Viper. Pricing is expected to start around $28,000 MSRP, and 2013 model year production will be cut short to allow Jeep to start producing the new Grand Cherokee at Chrysler Corporation's Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan, where the Grand Cherokee has been built since its introduction at the 1992 North American International Auto Show in January 1992 in Detroit, Michigan. The new Grand Cherokee will start production in late January 2013, and will go on-sale in early spring of 2013 as a 2014 model year vehicle.

Lamborghini Veneno

What do you do if you are Fellipo Perini, the director at Lamborghini, and McLaren, Porsche and, most importantly, Ferrari are about to launch their screaming hypercars that are bound to steal the show at Geneva? Well, you order your design board to design and build 3, just 3, totally mental cars based on the already stupendous Aventador. And then name it the Veneno, after the bull of the same name who holds the rare distinction of having killed the torero who challenged it. Also, Veneno means 'venom' in Spanish and Portuguese. The tuned Aventador engine produces 750 PS of power.Oh, and you also price it at 3.12 million euros.

will be more than thrice of those from the stables of other manufacturers, it will still be compared with the La
Though only three specimens will be made and its cost Ferrari, the Porsche 918 and the McLaren P1.

The Lamborghini Veneno is a limited production sports car, first exhibited during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It is a show piece based on the Lamborghini Aventador and was built to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. The prototype, Car Zero, is finished in grey and includes an Italian flag vinyl on both sides of the car. The engine is a development of the Aventador's 6.5 L V12 and produces 750 PS (550 kW; 740 bhp).

Only three production cars will be produced. There will be a green, white, and red one, each representing a colour of the Italian flag. Car Zero, which was the vehicle on display, will be retained by the factory for the museum. The three production cars will cost €3.12 million each, and all three have been sold. Two are destined for the USA.
