TVS is understood to be working on a new scooter with the same powertrain as the Wego but with a masculine design. Note the cool alloy wheels and the telescopic front forks.
TVS already has a successful automatic scooter fleet which includes the Scooty and Wego. While the Wego is a little too skinny for male riders, the new scooter should appeal to them. TVS officials had earlier this year confirmed that this new scooter will be targeted at the male populace. We expect the scooter to come fitted with electric start as standard and while the spy picture doesn’t show a disc brake, TVS might just throw in one as an option. The engine will be shared with the Wego and from the look of it, the scooter may have gained a few kilos as well (a la the Pleasure and Maestro). To compensate weight gain, power and torque may have been slightly hiked. The bulbous body style reminds one of the Access and Activa while the seating stance will be upright. The launch of this scooter was due in March-April this year; however, with the introduction of the new HET engined Activa/Dio/Aviator claiming an industry best fuel efficiency of 60kmpl, it seems TVS may have delayed the launch to extract more fuel efficiency. Expect the new scooter to command a slight premium than the Wego.
